Charles Carter Construction Company - General Contractor - We Build Since 1928

About Carter

Who We Are

The Charles Carter name has been in the construction industry in south Louisiana since 1928. The founder, Mr. Charles Carter, began as a masonry contractor and stone setter working on such projects as the United States Supreme Court Building in Washington, D.C., and our own Louisiana State Capitol here in Baton Rouge. In 1928, he began his own firm Charles Carter Contractor. As Baton Rouge grew from a small river town of 15,000 to a bustling city of 100,000 people, Charles Carter Contractor signs were quite prominent around town. The company built many of the new homes, commercial buildings, and portions of the fast-growing industrial complex along the Mississippi River.

In 1950, the firm was incorporated and the name was changed to Charles Carter & Company, Inc. and holds Louisiana contractors license number 15. This firm was managed by Mr. Charles Robert “Bob” Carter for over 47 years.

In 1997, the ownership of the firm and the name was changed to Charles Carter Construction Company, Inc. with Mr. Rennie W. Carter, the third generation of Carter’s, and Mr. Daniel M. Landry taking over. Charles Carter Construction Co., Inc. currently holds license number 33302.
